Mike had an appointment with a client today, so as I was saying goodbye, I noticed he had a little glitter on his cheek. Not surprising. You can't walk through this house without getting glittered. But, being the wonderful wife that I am and not wanting him to be embarrassed, I mentioned it and flicked it off. "Speaking of glitter," he began, "have you seen the printer lately?" Well, not really. I just don't pay that much attention. I put in a card, scan it and go. "It's covered in glitter. I've been faxing glitter to all my clients." Well, that should make them feel very special, don't you think? He was not amused. I'm guessing it was probably the skater card. I didn't "flick" it when the Crystal Effects dried. Honestly, I don't see a lot of glitter on the printer, so either he's very sensitive or he cleaned it. (Probably the latter.)
I said all that to say this....Today is mostly 3-D projects, so I had to use my camera - not the scanner. I have never been accused of being a great photographer (although I did take a couple beach pics that we're using as wallpaper for the computers) - but I think they're good enough for you to see what I'm doing. A couple were way too blurry, so you won't get close ups of those.
Here's the whole she-bang (minus one that I forgot to add to the group pic, but I have an individual shot for you).
They're all made with the Big Shot and scallop envelop die. From left to right - there's a mini album, a little box and a bigger apple box. That one is big enough for a Ginormous Costco Muffin - or even a couple of small apples.
I'd love to show you the album, but that's one of the blurry ones. Tt has three little pouches for pictures, notes, recipes, or whatever else your imagination can come up with. It's really cute. Stampin' Up!® had a contest for demos to send in class ideas, and this was one of the winners.
The apple box is made from Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper. I didn't really do a lot of embellishing. Ok, I didn't do any. This was the last thing I made and I was rushing to finish up. So it's just 4 scallop envelopes taped together. It took about 5 minutes. Cute, huh?? It would make a great box for mini cards, candy, nuts, or - as I mentioned earlier - apples or muffins. Or cookies. The close up of this one was another rejected photo, but, really, it's just a box.
This is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month box. It's perfect for mini notes or for small treats. It's made with two scallop envelopes and an extra strip of card stock - so it's a little smaller than the apple box. The DSP is Bella Rose, and the stamp is from Embrace Life. I used Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose card stock, but Pink Pirouette would be great too. The scallop background square is made by punching 4 scallop square (Regal Rose card stock) and taping them together to make one large square.
Here's the one that missed the group shot.
Isn't it cute?? It has 3 ginger snaps in it (Mike's favorite cookies this time of the year. Jonathan's & Wesley's too, I think!). It's 2 envelopes taped together again - but this time with no extra card stock strips. Just two envies. I punched the handle with the word window punch, and the stamp is from Window Dressing. The scallop circle and ribbon are Chocolate Chip. You can't see it really well in the little pic, but I wheeled "Spot On" on the Only Orange card stock in VersaMark just to give it a little extra.
And here's something that doesn't use the Big Shot. This one uses Simply Scrappin' Kits for cards.
You get this cute little box, and it's filled with all the supplies to make this.
Ok - a little clarification. This one was made with the "Summer Days" Simply Scrappin' Kit, which has retired. BUT - the same images (different colors) are available in the current Piña Colada kit. The other kits would also work really well also. There are enough supplies for 12 cards and envelopes. No stamping is required (although you certainly can, and it would add a lot!), so it's a great gift for someone who's new to rubber stamps, or someone who likes crafting but doesn't have a lot of supplies yet.
Look for classes incorporating these projects early in November. They'll make great packaging for gifts - as well as great gifts by themselves!
Don't forget to RSVP for October classes, too. The Stamp-a-stack is coming fast, and you want to be sure to have all the supplies you need for your cards.
Happy Stamping!
I really like the little pouch you made with the scallop envelopes. Thanks for sharing it!
Blessings,
Carrie
